Enduring Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) comes into play when you are unable to make decisions for yourself. It’s a legal document that empowers someone you trust to act on your behalf in regard to your property or personal care and welfare.

An Enduring Power of Attorney as to personal care and welfare only ever comes into effect when you no longer have the capacity to make your own decisions. While an EPOA in regard to property, enables you to elect for it to take effect when you still have capacity or when you no longer do so.

They are an important document and like a Will, everyone is recommended to have one.
